R4R was started in 2019 to save one life from suicide, as many times as possible. As our community has grown, so too has our ambition, and we believe that as many times as possible is making Canberra Suicide-Free by 2033.

Every time we get together, we’re telling the world that this many people support our goal of saving lives from suicide. If you’re a newcomer and would like to become more involved, please send us an email at run4resilience@gmail.com, and we’ll shoot you through the link to the WhatsApp group, no questions asked.

Find a community run near you

Since beginning in 2019, we haven't accepted a single donation because we believe that effort underpins a mentally healthy society. We've relied on people donating their time and their efforts to make R4R what it is today, and until otherwise, this will continue. So please, if you want to support our cause, all you need to do is show up.

If you can’t get down to one of our runs but still want to help, please share this with your friends.

If you’re subscribing to the Rag or attending our runs because you’re in a tough spot, we’re here for you. Our community will be running from

every Monday and Friday morning at 6:15 am and every Wednesday night at 6 pm… rain, hail, or shine.

We believe that one of the best things you can do is to exercise with friends and that by attending our runs, even though we can’t solve your problems, we can help give you a better foundation to address them.

If you are in need of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to explore one of the below services

Lifeline: Call 13 11 14

Beyond Blue: Call 1300 224 636 or use the Webchat Support Service

Black Dog Institute: access digital tools and apps to improve your mental health and well-being.

Running for Resilience is an unstructured concept that has been embraced by the Canberra and Mental Health communities. If you choose to take part in the weekly runs, you do so at your own risk. Running is a physically active sport and you should always seek advice from your doctor beforehand as to any pre-existing injury. Children under the age of 12 are the responsibility of their parents or guardians and must be accompanied by them at all times. Running for Resilience webpage and social media owners and operators or those organising the weekly runs are not always present at the weekly runs. They do not accept responsibility for any injury, loss or damage sustained by any participant.
