After a short break, the regular Meet the R4R Runners will return next week.
Last Friday, Running for Resilience held its first Gala Night and gee-whiz it was a doozy.
At multiple points in the night, I stood back and enjoyed the scenes playing out in front of me… Great people were having a great time.
Shooter, Benny A, and the Jetty
From the Fricken Chicken to the cocktails, the new marquee, live music, and so much more, the night wasn’t possible without these guys.
We are truly lucky to have such great hosts and to have a Public House (Pub) that understands the role it can play in a community.
Murray and Bravery Trek
The night was used to celebrate one of our community stalwarts in Murray Bruce.
The work he’s doing with Bravery Trek is remarkable and we’re incredibly lucky to be on the receiving end of his other efforts.
In a small token of gratitude, the night raised $1,600 for Bravery Trek and Bravery Trust.
Fordy
With minimal detail and full trust given, Fordy did an incredible job facilitating the evening so that the rest of us could enjoy it.
Our Community
Last but certainly not least, the main reason the night was so much fun was because of the people involved…
There’s no two ways about it. Our community is something special and we’re making a difference in people’s lives, including our own.
It is a privilege to call you all friends and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as we pursue a suicide-free ACT.
