Firstly, I apologise for the double up on Meeting Lara, but she’s so nice, we got to meet her twice… The upside of this mistake is that we now get to meet Elise!

Elise has been a consistent force at R4R and even through a knee injury, she kept rocking up and is always a pleasure to talk to and catch up with. It’s people like Elise who keep coming to R4R that make it the great community that it is, and for that Elise, we’re very thankful.

So without further ado, let’s meet Elise!

What is your name?

Elise Williamson

Where are you from?

Canberra

Have you always lived in Canberra?

For the most part, spent a few years away but now back.

How did you first hear about R4R?

Through a friend, Bella Gillespie

When did you first attend a R4R?

I think August 2020

What keeps you coming back to R4R?

The community

Do you have a R4R Personal Best? If not, what’s your 5km PB?

My PB is a 5.95km run, pace 5.26km. Fastest pace I have run

Do you prefer the winter R4Rs or the Summer R4Rs?

Winter R4Rs

Do you prefer Friday or Wednesday R4R? or in other words… Do you prefer beer or coffee?

Wednesday R4R... beer :)

If you could go for a 3km/6km walk or run with 3 people alive or dead, who would you choose and why?

My sister and two brothers. I am very close to my family and we all get very busy with our own lives.

What does resilience mean to you?

To keep moving forward when you just want to stop

Is there a time in your life where you’ve had to rely on your ability to be resilient?

Moving back to Canberra after ending a long term relationship

If you could say one thing to someone going through something tough at the moment, what would it be?

I am here if you ever want to talk, about anything or nothing.

In the 2022 edition of the R4R Gift, who will win the coveted Clydesdale award 100kg and above? Jonesy, Benny A, or other?

Benny A again

We thought Jonesy got another one with the double up from Lara, but unlucky, it’s all about Benny A. Thanks for your answers, Elise!
