We’re excited for the R4R Gala on October 6th. Of course, we’re excited to test out the new marquee at the Jetty, and we’re looking forward to a night of good food, good drinks, live music, and great company. But there are three main reasons we can’t wait for that first Friday evening in October.
Variety is the spice of life
Every week, we run the same route on Lake Burley Griffin at three different times, and whilst I’ve never been bored at an R4R event, a bit of novelty or something different always adds to the experience.
That’s why the Gift this year was so much fun with the Melbourne Cup (made possibly by Danny), that’s why Friday morning last week was filled with energy when Sammo gave his ‘Wallaby Gold is forged in fire’ speech, and that’s why we’re holding the Gala.
Variety is the spice of life, and the Gala is a great opportunity to shake things up and see the people we enjoy seeing every week, in a new setting.
Supporting an R4R stalwart
One of the great things about the R4R Community is that it’s filled with amazing people trying to improve the world around them. There are countless examples of this, all as good as the next, and all as admirable as what Murray Bruce is doing with Bravery Trust and The Bravery Trek.
Murray has given so much to R4R and he’s a perfect example of what we need more people in our community to do. I for one, can’t wait to celebrate his efforts, inside and outside of our community.
Celebrating our Community
Last but not least, is the opportunity to celebrate our community. Whilst, our goal is to make Canberra suicide-free, let’s not forget that this community has already saved lives and improved lives in the process.
My life is better because of R4R, my Mental Health is better because of R4R, and I genuinely feel like I belong to something bigger than myself… and I think that’s worth celebrating.
So, if you’re like me and you’re excited to celebrate our community, please grab your tickets via the link below. Hoo bloody roo!
